As a family of four our laundry basket is rarely empty, in fact I actually love that moment when I have managed to empty it! That usually only lasts a couple of hours though! Does anybody else feel the same or is it just me?
I am a stay at home mum of two toddlers, so as you can imagine laundry is usually part of my day! I usually like to get it out of the way during the week so we can enjoy quality family time on a weekend, and I have not got washing to do. I usually work on a 4 day washing cycle I do a light wash day one, a dark wash day two, towels day 3, and bedding day 4. I usually do all clothes on a 40 degrees wash and towels and bedding at 60 degrees.
My routine is I usually like to get the washing done in the morning, so after breakfast I put the washing on. Whilst that load is in the washing machine I usually fold and put away the washing hanging on the clothes airer from the day before. I only do one load in a day.
I have two laundry baskets, one for darks and one for lights, on my landing, central to the family bathroom and all the bedrooms. So that saves time when it comes to doing the washing as I don’t need to sort through the washing, I can just scoop it up in one go and put it straight in the washing machine.
@BritMums have asked me if I would like to take part in the #EcoverLaundry Challenge and try out @EcoverUK Non Bio Laundry Detergent for my family washing. I always use Non Bio Laundry Detergent as my 3 year old son has sensitive skin. 89% of mumsnet mums would recommend it, so it seemed worth a try.
Ecovers new Non-Bio Concentrated Laundry Detergent delivers a powerful clean and features a new delightful naturally inspired fragrance, Lavender & Sandalwood. From your baby’s first wash to the average bedding load, this dermatologically tested, plant based Non-Bio formula delivers spotlessly clean results, even on a cold wash.
After having used it for a week. My thoughts are its fragrance of Lavender & Sandalwood makes your washing smell amazing, so I love the fragrance.
It washed our clothes just as well as the other brands we have used too, even removing food stains from my one year old daughters clothes too.
So would I use it again? Yes I would, however with me being a stay at home mum we are family living on a budget so I do tend to buy what is on offer at the time.
